The general secretary of the Hellenic Weightlifting Federation Pyrros Dimas presented the final dossier for the World Junior Championship.

Greece for the first time after many years will organize a major international event and more specifically from 1 to 10 May 2022 the World Championship will be held in Heraklion, Crete.

Pyrros Dimas presented the Greek file and proved that EOAB is completely ready for the event and at the same time invited the athletes to come to Crete to get to know, among other things, the Greek hospitality.

The event was postponed to May, and was originally scheduled for March, in order to be included in the rating system for the 2024 Paris Olympics. The World Federation described the event as “gold” and the interest will definitely be even greater.

The new categories in view of the Olympic Games in Paris were also presented at the World Congress. More specifically, women will compete in 49, 59, 71, 81, + 81k and men in 61, 73, 89, 102 and +102 kg.
